While our site builder software is designed to create the perfect website for your small business, it’s important to realize that it doesn’t just stop there.

At Easy WebContent, we believe that a great website isn’t just about the design or looks of a website. It’s about much more than that; a good website has everything it takes to succeed as a business.

That’s why we decided to write this article with tips on how you can spice up your website, make it more robust and help your online business grow:

1. Add a Newsletter
A good website is designed to attract visitors, inform them and let them know more about what you have to offer.

The reality is that no matter how great your website and message is, most of these visitors aren’t ready to commit to using your services yet. In fact, it takes hearing about your offer at least 7 times for most people to make the decision to use your product or services. This is called the rule of 7 in marketing.

This is also why content marketing is very important and why we often recommend it here.

You can take your content marketing further and get more results by adding a newsletter; this makes it easy for you to get in touch with those who subscribe to your newsletter repeatedly and as a result turn them to customers.

2. Add Social Sharing Buttons
It’s important to add social sharing buttons to your website to make it easy for people to share your content when they enjoy it.

I can only imagine the number of times I’ve stumbled upon websites with great content I couldn’t share because they don’t have a sharing button. The key to getting more people to share your content isn’t just to write great content but to also make it easy to share your content.

If I have to visit Twitter or Facebook personally, copy the link to your post, copy your post title and then click share when I can easily do the same with a click or two if you have a social sharing button, except your content is really exceptional, I won’t bother sharing it.

Make it easy for people to share your content and you’ll get more shares.

3. Proper Navigation Structure
The more people and search engines can move freely through your website and not get lost, the more traffic, readers and sales you will get.

You want to make sure every single page on your blog is accessible via a link on another page, so having a proper navigation structure and effective linking is important.

4. Use Testimonials
There have been various studies that prove the importance of having a testimonial on your website. Even to a tune of 200% increase in sales thanks to testimonials.

It could be in text or in video format but the more credible your testimonials, the more leads you’ll generate from your website. People trust friends and family more than anyone else and in the absence of people they trust, they look to others for feedback before trusting your marketing message.

If you can convince people that your product/service is really helping other customers get results, they won’t have problems checking out what you have to offer.

5. Start Using More Images
Having images on your blog can lead to more sales, respect and trust for your brand. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work with all images. It only works with the right images.

Start using real images that support your message and your brand on your website to spice it up; avoid using boring stock images because not only do they not work, people find them irritating. Each image you use on your website passes across a message about your brand, so make sure it’s the right message.
